Over the last five years, technology has taken a better place in education.  College kids are scuffling from one app to another.  Oh and the smartphones, they have given college life a new perception. It’s no longer the boring college life; it more fun. Everyone is tech savvy.

As you struggle to find the right app to spice up your college life this year, I dare you to check some in the five categories below.

1. The money tracker apps

Spending in college is not easy. If done wrong, it might suck the life out of you. The student loans, those are even worse.  This is why you need an app to track your spending.

You might not have learnt about money management in high school, but it’s a crucial skill in college.

You see, students loans cannot cater for all costs.  You need an app that can budget and then track your spending.

2. Stress reliever apps

Urggh …  I guarantee college life is tricky. I mean, you have to deal with homework, money, toxic friends and even parents.

Surviving college is not only about education, but it also about emotions.  The demand for counseling is rising each day.  In fact, Ruth Caleb a chair of the Universities in Uk mental well being noted that more than 100,000 students are seeking help for stress related issues.

Surprisingly, many students are suffering in silence.  Some do not want to admit that they are stressed. But using an app is more fun and confidential.

It is not easy to find an app that will deal with all the stress in your life. But they will certainly help you to manage it. An example stress reliever is the headspace app that helps in guided meditation.  ‘It is the monk mediator for college kids’.  And of course there are many others.

3. Voice activated apps

These are the most underexploited apps among college kids.  Surely, college life is more fun with these apps.

Many kids don’t know this, but with the debut of IOS 9, the voice activated apps changed everything.

How sweet does it feel when you wake up in the morning to Siri and say,“ hey Siri, when is the first class.” , “Hey Siri,  how come I got drunk yesterday.”

You see, with a voice activated app like Siri, you don’t have to worry about forgetting stuff.

May be you want to call a friend; try the voice activated app and they will call on your behalf.

Kids at the University of Michigan used a similar app; Sirius, to create a virtual assistant.

4. Book reader apps

This one is no brainer.  It is a must have for all college kids.   Whether you have your old windows phone or a new I phone, there are different apps for any phone.

Amazon kindle is probably the most popular.  You might also consider others.

5. Exam preparation apps

These apps are amazing.  Revising for exams is boring as heck. Competitive exams such as SC, GATE, CTET, a daily test or an online exams demand serious preparation. With little time to spare, you find yourself stranded and confused.  Yet with an app you can make the preparation process fun.  Some have timed challenges while others have multiple tests.

But you need to select an app that is trustworthy and useful too.  Many of these apps are free and that is why you should pay careful attention before using them.
