The Apple Worldwide Developer Conference took place back in June, much to the delight of many Apple fans. A lot of the chat before the conference was on the future developments of their laptop range, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. With the MacBook Air recently released take a look at the new features this latest version of the super desirable laptop will have.
Intel Haswell
The latest version of the MacBook Air has launched with this newest version of the Intel chip in them and it would be super surprising if the Pro didn’t. Most of the big name manufacturers over the last few months have all launched new technology containing this fourth-generation core processor. Intel says the processor will enable better graphics, use less wattage than predecessors and consequently power up to 10 hours of battery life. This is the key feature of the Haswell, especially for Apple, which will want to maintain the super slim and sleek design of its laptops and by using the Haswell it won’t need to make it thicker to accommodate a bigger battery.
1080p webcam
Perhaps not up there on the wish lists of many, however Apple obviously believes that it is something, we, the consumer, really need: A 1080p webcam on the new MacBook Air. This means we will be able to view each other in fantastic 1920×1080 resolution, showing up every line or pore.
Retina display
There has been lots of talk of the new laptops containing pro retina displays, such as the one found on the iPads. However, when the MacBook Air was released there was no sign of it, while the MacBook Pro, which is looking at a potential release date in early September, is more likely to continue benefit from this technology.
Quicker Wi-Fi
This may not sound like the sexiest of upgrades but faster Wi-Fi for the MacBook will make it an ultra-attractive purchase for many. The new MacBook Air was released as the first production laptop to have the newly produced 802.11ac Wi-Fi, with claims that it is three times faster. The Pro will surely follow suit and include this new Wi-Fi as standard.

Other Apple news: New peripherals
As with most of Apples, we are only told about new products just before they are launched. One way of second guessing its strategy has always been to see what products are running at low stock. This tends to be a solid indication of Apple running stock down in readiness for a new launch. On this basis it would seem that the Airport Extreme Base Station, the Thunderbolt display and Time Capsule could be gearing up for a new releases.
