Apple’s latest operating system, the iOS 6 was launched two months ago and runs the iPod touch, the iPhone and the iPad. The operating system is impressive but not without issues, including problems with the camera flash and the onscreen keyboard. Now there’s good news for all Apple users. The company has rolled out the new version of the iOS. Called the iOS 6.0.1, it comes with fixes and patches to address the issues that have been plaguing Apple devices.
The update is in keeping with Apple’s track record. The followed up iOS5 last year and fixed the terrible bug that sucked the juice out of batteries. Now, we have the fixes for iOS6. If you want to download the update onto the device, this is how you do it. Go to Settings and make your way from there to General and get to Software Update. Alternately, get to iTunes to get the 69.7 MB update.
Here’s why we’re excited about the new operating system. To start with, there’s more dependability in the touch and the iPhone5. The devices are safer when connected to the WPA2 Wi-Fi, which is encrypted. There’s much to celebrate for phone users. The passbook pass details of virtual wallet that had a way of showing up on even the locked screen, creating tons of issues and showing a general lack of safety. This issue has disappeared. The Passcode Lock has been patched and that is a huge relief. Remember the problems with Exchange meetings? That’s gone too, thanks to a bug fix.
While the iPhone 5 well deserves its reputation of being the best smartphone on the planet, users had difficulties when they attempted to wirelessly install software updates. The glitch in the process created horizontal stripes on the screen and also prevented the camera flash from working.
There’s additional fixes for the random malfunction of cellular networks that the iPhone users face. You’re also going to see help in the form of Use Cellular Data switch for the iTunes Match. This will enable users to get to their music across the board, whether it is devices or platforms.
Developers were a happy lot because Apple offered its iOS 6.1 beta to them first. The version will try and address issues related to glitches in the Apple browser, Safari, betterments for the efficient handling of boarding passes, integration with Facebook and even an integration of the hopefully, all-improved Maps service with third party applications.
We’re a little unhappy though because it looks like the Maps app does not seemed to have been given a makeover, seeing how heavily it’s been criticized. Yes, heads have rolled over this app and yet, apart from an apology, the company has not given us more.
But it’s not all bad. iOS6 has over 200 new features, a huge change from version 5. The updates include more information about cinema, sports and restaurants and enhanced Siri software. Now with these new fixes & patches, iOS6 is set to look even better.

Appreciate the updates. no major release is perfect on rollout, this is common in software development as time for releases is always rare and deadlines fix
