Whether you need to store passwords or other sensitive information, doing so on your mobile device can be dangerous. If you misplace your phone, there’s no telling who will be able to access the information that you hold dear. Protect your valuable information on your mobile device with one of these apps:
1. DataVault
Powerful encryption and the most advanced security features give you a safe place to store passwords, account information and personal information; all in one place. Sync your information via Wi-Fi, Mobile Me and Webdav for the ultimate in portability. Information can be organized into pre-set categories or in categories you create, making this app completely customizable.
2. Personal Data Erase Pro
Have you ever wondered if your information was truly erased once you deleted it from your mobile device? Wonder no more! This app overwrites files with random data before it erases them, making it virtually impossible for anyone to gain access to your information should you lose or lend your mobile device.
3. Account Vault
Do you have accounts that you rarely use but are still important? How many times have you been in line at the grocery store only to realize that you left your rewards card behind? This application will store all of your account numbers in one place; from rewards cards to frequent flyer account numbers, this app will give you quick access to any account number, no matter how infrequently you use them.
4. BURPsync
This app allows users to back up all of the information stored on their mobile device safely. With over 200 handsets supported, virtually every cell phone user in the nation can benefit from the apps features. Any information that you back up is accessible on your mobile device, PC or laptop at any time and from anywhere.
5. WaveSecure
Brought to you by the trusted company, McAfee, the app allows users to back up their phones to a remote site and retrieve it at any time should your mobile device be stolen or lost. The cross platform device means that you can upload your contacts from your iPod and download them to your Android device. It’s perfect for those who frequently change devices.
Protecting your data is more important today than ever. With these five fantastic apps, you can be sure that your data is both secure and easily accessible should you misplace your mobile device.

I was not aware about WaveSecure, BURPsync applications. I am happy to see other alternatives to protect data. I usually take backups on other HDs or on DVDs periodically.

The most important part of information technology is somewhat ignored- security and protection of data. I hope your apps will help users in getting their data secured.
