Equipped with a full-time keyboard and a ridiculously tiny trackpad, the build of this ThinkPad is a story of contradictions.
Deviating from the standard design, the left/right buttons are situated on top of the trackpad. The pointer nub sits right in the middle of the keyboard. There is absolutely no palm rest area in ThinkPad X230T. This machine is not made to cater to those cranking up close to 4000 words everyday on their keyboards.
Lenovo ThinkPad X230T comes with a huge 12.5 inch multi-touch screen with IPS display technology. For a convertible notebook, this is the best looking display you’d ever find. Although coming with more than ordinary viewing angles, the somewhat average 1366 X 768 screen resolution doesn’t do justice to ThinkPad X230T’s display.

Since the tablet comes with an Intel Core third generation CPU, improved performance is guaranteed. Although the tablet may not be the best for ardent gamers, it still packs in enough to support average gameplay.

Lenovo ThinkPad X230T comes with two USB 3.0 slots, one DisplayPort, a 4-in-1 Card Reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This tablet is Bluetooth 4.0 and Intel Centrino Advanced Wireless connectivity enabled.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X230T comes with certain great features and functionalities. And yet, there are a few features that could have been better. The ThinkPad X230T scores high with a great display and viewing angles, a fantastic 180 degrees swiveling screen, a brilliantly functional keyboard, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. With a Dolby Advanced Audio 2.0 and a 720p front-facing camera, this tablet brings decent face tracking and video conferencing functionalities. Equipped with an optional external battery pack that can extend Lenovo ThinkPad X230T’s life to 18 hours, it brings along a standard 63WHr battery that delivers up to 8 hours of average life. And it hit lows with a cramped trackpad, below average touch accuracy and a missing palm rest feature.
For tipping the weighing balance to the wrong side, Lenovo ThinkPad X230T may not be the first choice for power users. There are a number of less pricey tablets available in the market that may take the thunder off ThinkPad X230T. But with many interesting features and functionalities, Lenovo ThinkPad X230T may well become the ultimate Windows 8 tablet.
