When it comes to the dividing line between at-work technology and home life, how old-fashioned are you? If you’re like many people, you’re probably more contemporary-minded than you’d like to be. That’s because in spite of our best intentions, many of us feel the need to be connected and responsive all or most of the time when we’re not at work. In fact, nearly 40 percent of people age 35 to 44 will respond to emails most of the time on weekends.

Crossing that line doesn’t happen just on everyday weekends, either. We’re doing it while we’re sick, and we’re doing it while we’re on vacation. We’re not letting those emails sit, either: We’re responding at least within minutes, and most of the time before the work day even reaches its end. It’s even more pervasive if you’re a male or if you’re younger.
