For all of those Nokia fans who have been waiting for Nokia to release a really great phone, it is safe to say that your waiting days are over. Well, actually, they will soon be over – as soon as the new Nokia Lumia 900 hits the market. The new Nokia was revealed at the CES 2012, and it was an absolute hit. People from Nokia are so sure they have released a fantastic phone that they offered $100 to anyone who brings a faster phone than the new Nokia Lumia 900 – and no one got lucky.
Is there any difference between the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900?
Even though many people have speculated that the new Lumia 900 will be basically the same as the 800 model, the difference between these two is plain to see. Yes, they both have the same processor and the same operating system, but the new Lumia 900 has a much bigger display, namely 4.3 inches as opposed to 3.7-inch display on the Nokia Lumia 800. Aside from the display size, there is also the fact that the Nokia Lumia 900 offers 4G LTE connectivity.
Nokia Lumia 900 – Design
To start off, the new Lumia 900 looks breathtaking, although it is admittedly a little chunky. In spite of its size, it feels great in the hand, and it is very easy to use. It is made out of good old polycarbonate, which means that it is light but strong and difficult to damage. When it comes to the colors, the Lumia 900 will come in two different colors – cyan and black. The Body of the Lumia 900 is somewhat curvier than that of the Lumia 800, but this curvature is almost unnoticeable.
Nokia Lumia 900 Specs
The reality is that a lot of people expected better specs from a phone that is supposed to be the flagship of the company. However, even though the numbers are not mind-boggling, the phone really is incredibly fast and can do just about anything you wish it to do. So, the Lumia 900 has a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it has 512 MB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage. The 4.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors and the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels is simply amazing. One of the best things about this display is a feature called Nokia ClearBlack, which is basically a technology that results in direct sunlight having no effect on the visibility. Aside from the fantastic screen, the 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens is yet another amazing feature of this promising phone.
Summary
All in all, the new Nokia Lumia 900 is a very good phone indeed. Even the ones that disliked Nokia because of the Symbian OS will now enjoy the much better Windows Phone 7. As always, the camera is Nokia’s plus side, and this model is no exception. The battery is yet another plus side, as it is 1840mAH and reported to have a stand-by time of a whopping 300 hours.
