The Australian Financial Review reported that Stephen Elop, the CEO of Nokia claimed the company is closely examining the tablets but has still not announced anything officially. Elop said, “We are studying very closely the market right now as Microsoft has introduced the Surface tablet, so we are trying to learn from that and understand what the right way to participate would be and at what point in time.”
Android or Windows tablet?
Elop also declared the possibility of introducing one Android tablet keeping in mind the advantages you can enjoy with the 7 inch screen popularly found in the Android devices. When given the options as to which of the operating systems Nokia is planning to use, it chose Windows. However, the PR executive confirmed that officially no decision is taken till now.
Windows tablet from Nokia
Windows tablet is a logical choice for Nokia on the virtue of its relation with Microsoft. Last year, Nokia was busy ramping up its selection of Windows Phone Lumia. This is not the first time that Nokia hinted upon releasing a Windows tablet. Two years back in October, Elop put forward the idea of Windows tablet. Again, in the month of November in the same year, Nokia head declared that they would introduce Windows 8 tablet by June 2012.
Nokia Windows RT tablet in Q2/2013
So far, only rumors could be heard but no substantial product could be seen. Lately, it is announced that Nokia might launch Windows RT tablet in the early months of 2013. If this declaration is true, then you will soon be able to see a Windows tablet with 10.1 inch screen and a special keyboard supplied with its battery. Supported by AT&T, this new Windows 8 tablet would provide you cellular connection together with USB and HDMI ports.
Wait a little more and you can grab a marvelous tablet to use! At present Nokia is judging the success of Microsoft Surface on the basis of which it will make plans on the development of its device and its release date.
With the release of its Windows 8 tablet, Nokia is bound to fight the same competition with the other tablets in the market as it has with smartphones. Whether it is for tablet or for smartphones, Android and Apple dominate both the markets. So, Nokia is now attempting to challenge BlackBerry in its smartphone war.
