OPPO’s Find 5 Android Powered Smartphone

Oppo is a company based in Guangdong, China that has forayed into smartphones. It was more popularly known for its Hi-Fi and high end Blue Ray systems before it decided to plunge into the already crowded smartphone market and the result is its newest creation the Find 5, which is a high-end Android device that sports a full HD 5-inch display which probably prompted the creation of the brand name Find 5. A 5-inch display catapults the Find 5 to the leagues of Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II devices that created a storm in the smartphone markets worldwide.Review OPPO Find 5 smartphone running Android

IPS Touchscreen with 1080 x 920 pixels Full HD Display

The Find 5 though, manages to stand apart with its 1080p IPS touchscreen with a stunning resolution of 1080 X 920 that gives it an enviable pixel density of 441 ppi, making it one of the exclusive smartphones that use a full HD display, though the 5-inch Butterfly from HTC sports a similar 5-inch screen which is available only in the Japanese markets.  A lot of research seems to have gone into the crafting and design of the Fine 5 that includes a bezel as thin as 3.25 mm, the front-frame that is of a black, gleaming, chrome-plated stainless steel finish.

Look and Feel

With the 8.9 mm thick case, Oppo has ensured that there are no fancy curves in the body which has straight, simple lines with emphasis on build quality rather than looks. At first glance though, the Find 5 looks like any other smartphone that is already available in the market. The specifications of the Find 5 are pretty impressive, what with the 13 mp rear facing camera that has a f/2.2 aperture. The second camera is front-facing and of 1.9 mp. The smartphone has the smart feature of HDR video recording, the first of its kind in a smartphone, as per Oppo.  You can shoot videos at 120 fps in HD. You can also click an amazing 100 snaps in five seconds flat, using the burst mode. The stunning audio from Dirac HD is used by major auto makers of the world and superbly supplements the excellent video capabilities. All this is packed into a thickness of just 8.9 mm.

Processor, Memory and Connectivity

Coming to what makes the Find 5 tick, the quad-core processor is a 1.5 Gigahertz Qualcomm that is enabled with an impressive 2 Gigabyte random access memory that makes it fast enough.  The internal memory though, is quite insufficient at 16 Gigabytes and the lack of a microSD card makes matters worse as you are stuck with limited memory. The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean that is the preferred operating system with an UI overlay. This 3G device supports HSPA+ and near field communication (NFC) connectivity. This feature is enabled by a special version of Sina Weibo that allows users to follow each other instantly. The Find 5 is powered by a non-removable battery of 2500 mAh that can keep going for hours, which makes it a preferred choice of people who are constantly on the move. Overall, the Find 5 promises several firsts and a great experience that people need to wait for.
