If you are an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch user, you may aware that storage space of your device can often be very precious. If your device has only 16GB or even 8GB of storage, that might be a big deal. Apple makes up to $100 per size upgrade on the iDevice range, which means you may need to pay more money if you want to get more free space on your iDevices.
I got a 8 GB iPhone, and it is running out of space, especially after I downloading some music and apps recently. I tried to delete some of the large apps, but then I found that I might need it later on, so that may not be an optimal choice. At that point, I desperately wanted something that could clean up my iPhone without deleting or uninstalling any of my precious photos or apps.
I finally decide to find a safe and reliable software to save me out of the awkward situation with iMobie’s PhoneClean. PhoneClean is uniquely designed with over 20 analyzing technologies and is capable to eliminate more than 30 types of junk files, such as cache, cookie, off-line and many other kinds of junk files. I let the newly updated PhoneClean do its work on my iPhone 4S. But does it really work?
How does PhoneClean Work on My iPhone 4S?
I download and install PhoneClean on my computer, then connect my iPhone 4S to my computer. Once I launch PhoneClean, the following screen pops up. I notice that there are four main buttons on the homepage – Quick Clean, Deep Clean, Toolbox and Restore. I tried the four buttons one by one to check out the results.
I noticed that the interface is actually quite friendly, and it didn’t try to push anything on me, and. Scanning my iPhone’s 8 GB of data took around 31 seconds, during which I could still use my iPhone freely. After 31 seconds, PhoneClean informed me that I could save 237.36MB by deleting all kinds of files it had found.

Then I click Deep Clean, the Back Up screen pops up to inform me that PhoneClean will back up my iPhone 4S before doing the Deep Clean.
It gives me a sense of safety because I have no need to worry about losing any important data by doing this.

After backing up my iPhone 4S, PhoneClean begins its work to clean the Call History, Messages, Browsing History and some other personal data on my iPhone which protects my privacy from prying eyes just as iMobie says.
Deep Clean Interface
I click the third button on the homepage – Toolbox. I found that it is versatile to help clean my duplicated contacts, long-forgotten Notes, and tedious Calendar reminders. And it is also works well with jailbreaking iDevice too!
Toolbox Interface of PhoneClean
The last button on the homepage is Restore. I click it, and I feel even more reliable and friendly for it creates full backups prior to any cleaning action, so that even I mistakenly deleted some important personal data, I can still get them back by restoring My device to previous backup point.

Conclusion
It took me about ten minutes to check out the main function of PhoneClean and space up my iPhone 4S with just four buttons. Furthermore, PhoneClean is the first desktop based software, and it is both powerful and friendly to iOS users. It really works well on my iPhone, and I’m going to use it on my iPad mini later.
