Sakshat Tablet also known as the Indian Ipad, manufactured by the HCL technologies is going to hit the market by the end of June 2011. This tablet was once known as the 1500 Rupee Indian Laptop that is changed into a tablet.
The first 10K Sakshat Tablets will be delivered to IIT Rajasthan students by the end of June, following the launch of over 90K units in the coming months.

I donno if it’s a misconception or not, but where I live and I believe not only in my country, what is cheap is not of good quality either.

No no … I think you misunderstood it, this tablet was once known as 1500 Rupee Indian laptop !! Its price is around 2200 INR and I don’t think this tablet is only for rural students …. 🙂
