Steve Jobs died on Wednesday the 5th of October 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, and just a day after the launch of the iPhone 4S. But with his death have we lost the genius behind one of the most successful companies ever? What lies in store for Apple now that one of the great innovators of the last century is no longer their guiding light?
It is yet to be seen whether Tim Cook can live up to the legacy of Steve Jobs, but whichever way you look at it this is going to be an extremely difficult goal to achieve. For so many reasons Tim Cook will never leave the legacy which has been left by Jobs and will always have been left by Jobs? Tim Cook has already took the blame for the lack of redesign of the iPhone; then forgiven when it was realised just how good the iPhone 4S actually was, though it was quickly realised that this again was Steve Job’s legacy. It is for this reason Tim Cook didn’t take centre stage at the launch of the phone, and not due to its disappointing appearance.
We may have lost the genius behind the massive giant which is Apple; but he has left behind an absolutely huge legacy, of which the iPhone 4S and all the iPhones and Apple devices before it, is just the beginning. Steve Jobs will continue to innovate and improve long after his death. Steve Jobs might have passed, rest his soul, but it is understood that four year’s worth of innovation and improvement have been left behind.
The new iPad, iPhone and iPod are all now currently in production, all from blueprints overseen in advance by Steve Jobs. The disappointment that the iPhone 5 was not launched, as speculated in October 2011 has subsided and it is promised that the iPhone 5 will change the world of smartphones forever, and one can well believe it.
Market shares in Apple have dropped recently, and analysts have pointed to the knowledge that Steve Jobs has been terminally ill for some time for this drop (Tim Cook has some huge shoes to step in to). However it is anticipated that the knowledge of this legacy may lead to an increase of up to £670 million. Pre-orders for iPhone 4S contracts increased by 44,000 percent at the news of Steve Jobs’ death, to over 1 million in the first day.
Tim Cook does have huge shoes to step in to; however I am pretty sure that Steve Jobs knew what he was doing when he passed over the mantle and passed his legacy of blueprints and genius over to Tim Cook. Steve Jobs will live on through Apple forever.

Apple had a history of downfall when Steve Jobs was fired from his own company, I’m sure that the loss of Steve Jobs will definitely pose a problem for Apple but I think they can go through with it.

It would be a complete and unforgivable mistake for anybody, even Tom Cook to try and fill Job’s shoes. The next main person in Apple, should do something entirely different and walk a totally different path.
Only that way, somebody new will have a chance to be the next “backbone” of Apple.

I’ve never owned an Apple, but Steve Jobs did an amazing job with the company. I wonder what will happen now.

I’m certain that no one can ever replace Steve Jobs. It’s true that Tim Cook have a big shoes to fill in but if Steve Jobs had faith in him, then i agree with you that he can certainly continue Steve Job’s legacy.
